International swim coach Austin Pillado is set to conduct a 10-day high-performance training camp in Tanzania, targeting both athletes and coaches seeking to elevate their competitive edge.
The camp will run from May 5 to May 14, 2026, at Monti International School in Dar es Salaam.
Organisers say the program will focus on advanced swimming techniques, including stroke development across all disciplines, as well as improving starts, turns and underwater performance. Participants will also be taken through race strategy, strength conditioning, mobility, and recovery practices aligned with international standards.
Athletes attending the camp will pay KSh 40,000, with accommodation and meals included. Coaches will pay a subsidised fee of KSh 15,000, which covers meals only, and will receive an eight-week structured training program to support continued athlete development after the camp.
The training will be hosted at Monti International School’s modern swimming facility, which features underwater camera technology used to analyse swimmers’ techniques in real time. The system allows coaches to assess stroke efficiency, body positioning and underwater phases with greater precision.
The camp is expected to attract participants from across the region, reflecting growing interest in structured, high-performance swim training in East Africa.
