Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir has urged residents to support the implementation of the national 10-Point Agenda, describing it as a key platform for strengthening cooperation between the national and county governments and accelerating development projects in the coastal city.
Addressing residents during a meet-the-people tour of Jomvu attended by Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya and Jomvu MP Bady Twalib, Nassir said the success of the agenda depends on unity, dialogue and collective responsibility among leaders and citizens.

"As we continue implementing our 10-Point Agenda, I call upon every resident to reject division and embrace collaboration. When we choose progress over politics and partnership over polarization, there is no limit to what we can achieve for Mombasa," the governor said.
He said his administration is working with the national government to improve access to healthcare, expand water services, strengthen education, enhance security and create more economic opportunities for young people and businesses.
"Our vision for Mombasa can only be realised if we work together. The transformation we seek, better healthcare, reliable water, quality education, safer neighbourhoods, opportunities for our youth, stronger businesses and dignified livelihoods, requires unity of purpose from all of us," he added.
Nassir said the spirit of cooperation reflected in the national agenda should extend beyond government programmes, urging residents to safeguard the peaceful coexistence that has enabled Mombasa to remain one of Kenya's most diverse counties.

He warned against leaders who, he said, seek to exploit political differences for personal interests at the expense of development.
"Destroying is always easier than building. The people of Mombasa must remain vigilant against those who seek to divide our communities, weaken our friendships and erode the unity we have worked so hard to build, all in pursuit of personal political ambition," he said.
The governor also pointed to compensation for families of victims who lost their lives during political demonstrations as one of the outcomes of the broad-based cooperation between the Kenya Kwanza administration and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
According to Nassir, the commitment was reached through the 10-Point Agenda and seeks to compensate affected families regardless of the administration under which the deaths occurred.
He commended Parliament for approving the necessary budgetary allocation for the compensation programme, saying the move demonstrates how dialogue can resolve longstanding grievances that had remained unaddressed for years.
